DCW in association with Sakshi works on running the 181- Women (Mahila) Helpline (MHL). The helpline is a 24X7 toll-free phone number which seeks to provide immediate assistance to women in distress. It is operated through a network of counselors, supervisors, consultants and experts.
Functioning of the helpline has supported women to report cases not just in Delhi but also in other states. The counsellors immediately begin assisting these women, and a team for assistance reaches, if required on the spot. The Helpline also disseminates’ information about various support services and governmental schemes and programs which are available to women and the girls. The DCW has been able to substantially decreased rate of dropped calls and is trying to reduce further to zero. Sakshi MHL is working in Southeast and South Distt. of Delhi, covering the following Police Stations & had approached 3875 women in distressed and provided them all kind of support.
