Mobile Creches for Working Mother’s Children

  • Project: Childcare
  • Started: 2014
  • Children supported: 500

Sakshi NGO runs the Mobile Creches for mother labourer’s children at Construction Site for affordable childcare of marginalized children. We provide quality childcare for the poorest families in India. We believe that we can bring a meaningful change to the lives of children by supporting their families. In our experience, parents of children from underprivileged families give up as parents can either not afford child care or food. Since 2014, Sakshi has run child care centres for those mothers who work as labourers on construction sites, water pickers. All our teachers, helpers and supervisors are trained and they nurture, shower love and affection to every child equally.

Need of Creches and Child Care Facility

In India, many women work in the informal sector to run their family and for which they have to leave their home in the early morning for more than 8-10 hours. Such women leave their kids unprotected to their younger daughters or carry them with them to work. This situation leads to many problems such as theft of kids, malnutrition, the burden of young girl child to take care of her siblings, and leaving study. To give a solution to all such issues, a vision of a Child care facility came into light where child-friendly sites are established to keep Children safe, healthy, and educated. The environment makes them able to enjoy their childhood. The Mobile Creches come up with a healthy Meal for underprivileged program to provide the right nutrients to every kid for their growth and well-being.

The Solution Creche Programme for Children

The objective of our Creche program is to support childcare in the initial stage for working labourer mothers at construction sites or earning anywhere for daily wages. In creche, their children are taken care of for early childhood development and creche workers or volunteers focus on their health, nutrition, learning, care, and protection. We also focus on sending them in primary schools after a certain age and enrol them for admission under Educate Underprivileged Children program.

This initiative helped in early childhood care and development for kids living in harsh circumstances. Under this program, we also provide training to community women and workers to make them aware about child issues and how to run creches.
