Being an Intern was where I learned something new every day. I was placed at mahila panchayat, a special programme run by SAKSHI where we conducted various Door to Door awareness visits, MHL case visits , community meetings with the women of the community and also organised various activities with the women and children's of the community such as session on waste management, value education, cooperative games,etc. We were also engaged in Need assessment of the community members, shadow counseling’s, Agency and community profiling.
From the beginning to the end I was met with respect and understanding by the members of the NGO. If I didn't knew something, there was always someone to ask for help within the organisation. From walking in on my first day until leaving months later, my internship has taught me a lot and has given confidence in my own abilities. It will definitely help me in my future career aspirations. Therefore I am very thankful for such a valuable and rewarding experience at SAKSHI.
